Goals

  • Students will use valid scientific reasoning to identify, investigate and evaluate environmental issues. They will effectively communicate their findings, and will become advocates for their environment.

  • Students will demonstrate an understanding of natural systems and human interactions working toward establishing and maintaining harmonious relationships with the environment.  

  • Students will use their acquired knowledge, ethics and decision-making skills to actively participate in the resolution of environmental issues, with emphasis on local concerns.

  • Students will develop a responsibility and commitment to local and global environmental stewardship.

  • Students will participate in learning activities in the classroom, the Benn Nature Conservancy and other outdoor sites.
